The post office on Halki, is upstairs in the terracotta building on the harbour front. It's open Monday to Friday from 07.00-14.00. The post arrives and departs just twice a week, depending on transport available. The sole 'periptero' (kiosk) carries only Greek-language newspapers, but you can pick up a few little items supermarkets may not carry.

There is nothing like as much sponge fishing as there used to be - Halki sponges were once exported and sold throughout all of Greece - but a few do still appear in the local shops.
